Football - Robbo: Pressure is mounting

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson admitted the pressure is mounting on him after Chris Maguire's stunning late double for Coventry condemned his side to a 3-1 defeat.

PA Sport Report

Shaun Williams' penalty had given the Dons a half-time lead but super-sub Maguire curled in two exquisite late free-kicks to win it for the Sky Blues after fellow debutant Chris Dagnall had levelled.

And Robinson admits this is the most testing period he has faced as Dons boss after they slipped to within five points of the drop zone following a third straight defeat.

He said: "We're probably in as difficult a position as I've ever been in, I've got to be honest about that.

"But in the three-and-a-half years I've been here I've never shirked any responsibility or turned my back on anything, and that won't be the case this time.

"The problem I think we have at the moment is that when we concede a goal we look very fragile and concede a second one very quickly.

"I don't think anyone who has seen that would think we were poor but it's still not good enough because we've not won the game.

"We dominated the first half and scored a very deserved goal but we should have been two or three clear at that stage.

"Second half they were kicking into 7,500 fans so there was going to be momentum, we understood that.

"They were on top, but a wicked deflection got them back into the game then they won it with two of the best free-kicks you are going to see at stadium:mk."
