Football - Spence set for Dons start

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson confirmed to the media on Thursday that new signing Jordan Spence will start at centre-back against Tranmere.

Spence, signed on loan from West Ham on a deal until November 23, will make his debut for the Milton Keynes club alongside Shaun Williams who returns from a one-match suspension.

Also expected to come back is goalkeeper David Martin, having missed the home defeat to Carlisle on Tuesday night with a calf injury. However, Stephen Gleeson, also suffering from a calf problem, will probably remain on the sidelines along with fellow midfielders Dean Bowditch (hip) and Dele Alli (ankle) and defender Antony Kay (hip).

Despite the absentees, Robinson does have competition for places - most notably at right-back with Lee Hodson, Jon Otsemobor and George Baldock all vying for the starting berth.
