Football - Stead set to start

Huddersfield striker Jonathan Stead could make his first start of the season in the home Capital One Cup clash with Charlton.

Stead stepped off the substitutes' bench in the weekend win over Bournemouth for his first league appearance since returning to his hometown club in the summer.

Town beat Bournemouth 5-1 on Saturday to seal a second successive league win and Robins said he was tempted to send out the same team, but also acknowledged several players were in need of a competitive run-out.

The likes of winger Danny Ward, defender Calum Woods and striker Sean Scannell are in contention for recalls, but midfield pair Keith Southern (calf) and Anton Robinson (knee) remain sidelined.
