Football - Togwell has Spireites future - Cook

Chesterfield manager Paul Cook insists Sam Togwell remains part of his plans.

PA Sport Report

Togwell started the first game of the season at Bury but the midfielder has since found first-team opportunities hard to come by.

Reports recently suggested he had fallen out with Cook and was set to leave the club on loan, with the Spireites' Sky Bet League Two rivals Scunthorpe having expressed an interest.

However, Cook told reporters ahead of his side's top-of-the-table clash at Fleetwood on Saturday: "I feel a bit sorry for Sam Togwell.

"He's not out of our plans, it's not that we don't want to play him. Sam is a very good central midfielder.

"There is no problems as regards relationships, as has been suggested, and he hasn't been frozen out. Sam will get a chance and when he does I'm sure he will take it."
