Football - Tykes wait on Dawson

Barnsley midfielder Stephen Dawson could have a late fitness test ahead of his side's FA Cup quarter-final clash at Manchester City.

Dawson has missed the last nine matches since damaging ankle ligaments at Ipswich in mid-January and is hoping to prove his fitness in time to feature at the Etihad Stadium.

Manager David Flitcroft has no new injury or suspension problems following the midweek draw at Burnley.

But Flitcroft could make changes and confirmed team selection will be made with next Tuesday's league game against Brighton very much in mind.

On-loan Stoke defender Rory Delap and fellow loanee Ryan Tunnicliffe, from Manchester United, were both unused substitutes at Turf Moor and could return to the starting line-up.

Midfielder Tomasz Cywka stepped off the bench to fire the Tykes' equaliser against Burnley and is also pushing for a recall, together with winger Jim O'Brien, defender Bobby Hassell and striker Jason Scotland.
