He set the target after seeing his side match their points tally from last season with a comfortable 3-1 win over Coventry.
But he insisted the Londoners are not interested in other sides' results, adding: "It is just about what we do.
"We have 10 games to go and you are going to need another 16 points, so if we can get them quickly then fantastic."
Warburton was not happy with the first-half display and said: "It was the worst we've been since December and it wasn't good enough.
"We were too deep in midfield and they pressed us high, but the second half was a completely different game. The only disappointment was that we didn't score more."
It took Alan McCormack's strike three minutes after the restart to seal the points, when he broke from half way to volley home past advancing goalkeeper Joe Murphy.
