The 23-year-old, recently released by Wolves, has put pen to paper on a one-year deal after scoring threegoals in four appearances for them during a trial spell.

Winnall signed his first professional contract with Wolves in 2009, but made just one first-team appearance, in a League Cup tie against Southend in 2010.

He has had previous loan spells at Burton, Hereford, Inverness and Shrewsbury and follows fellow summer recruits Andy Dawson, Chris Iwelumo, Terry Hawkridge, Luke Waterfall, Andy Welsh, Matt Sparrow, Etienne Esajas, Sean McAllister and Deon Burton into Glanford Park.
