Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be playing for Napoli next season, according to his agent Mino Raiola who says the Serie A side can "forget" about trying to sign the striker.
The Manchester United’s man future is currently the topic of much speculation with his current deal set to expire in the summer and seemingly no extension having been agreed.
Ibrahimovic suggested earlier this week he could be tempted by a move to Maurizio Sarri’s side but Raiola has insisted that is out of the question.
“Ibra to Napoli? Forget it,” the veteran’s agent told Radio Kiss Kiss . “Zlatan won’t be in Naples [next season]. This dream won’t come true.”
Ibrahimovic has enjoyed a superb first season in English football scoring 26 goals in all competitions and helping United lift the League Cup.
The Swede could also finish the season with more silverware, with United into the quarter-finals of the Europa League where they will face Anderlecht.
Manager Jose Mourinho has insisted he expects Ibrahimovic to stay at Old Trafford, claiming he is happy at the club he joined from PSG.
However, there has reportedly been interest in the striker from LA Galaxy and former manager Alexi Lalas has claimed the MLS side “have a chance” of landing the 35-year-old.
Ibrahimovic will miss Manchester United's clash with Middlesbrough on Sunday as he continues to serve a three-match man for elbowing Tyrone Mings in the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth.
