Former Arsenal breakthrough star breaks silence as Man United transfer confirmed
Former Arsenal wonderkid Chido Obi-Martin has broken his silence after signing for Premier League rivals Manchester United. The talent posted on his social media smiling with Red Devils icon Eric Cantona after his long-awaited switch to the North West.
United have faced an agonising wait for Premier League approval after convincing the 16-year-old to make the move. Obi-Martin has been forced to train away from the training ground in Carrington while they awaited approval.
He will now be officially unveiled as a United player and the MEN have reported that he is expected to play between the under-18 and under-21 age groups as he acclimatises.

In a post on Instagram, Obi-Martin was all smiles as he met with the iconic Frenchman, shaking hands with Cantona.
Obi-Martin hit the headlines for Arsenal after a flurry of goals against the likes of Liverpool and Crystal Palace which saw him break Eddie Nketiah’s record for most goals for under-18s in Gunners history.
It was suggested that Arsenal had offered a new deal for the highly-rated forward which would see him sign a scholarship until he was 17, where would be pen a professional deal at Hale End. However, he rejected the extension and opted for new pastures with a host of clubs eyeing his services.
He departed on the back of scoring 29 goals in 17 matches for Jack Wilshere's under-18s - including a 10-goal glut against Liverpool, in November. The MEN added that United's head of academy, Nick Cox, and head of academy recruitment, Luke Fedorenko, are responsible for the deal - which has been described as a significant coup with the potential to break into the first-team.
Obi-Martin confirmed his departure in June when he posted to his social media upon his exit, he wrote: "I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone at Arsenal for the past four years.
"The experiences and growth I've achieved have been truly invaluable. A special thanks to the coaches, staff and teammates at Hale End.
"The memories made will be always be remembered. Thank you once again for this journey, I wish everyone continued success and all the best for the future."
