Former champion Rodriguez dies

Former flyweight world champion Douglas Rodriguez has died at the age of 61.


Rodriguez suffered a heart attack at his home in Havana.

"The Cuban sports family have learned with the deepest regret the death of former world champion and Olympic boxing medallist Douglas Rodriguez," said the Cuban Sports Institute.

Rodriguez took bronze at the 1972 Olympics in Munich.

He was also named world champion in 1974.
