Former Chelsea forward looks totally unrecognisable just one year after retiring from football
Ex-Chelsea forward Loic Remy has been turning heads on social media after being spotted with a brand new haircut.
The Frenchman, who spent three years on the books at Stamford Bridge, looks nothing like he used to, having been pictured sporting a striking set of long dreadlocks. A photo of him with a Newcastle fan, who bumped into the 37-year-old while cliff diving in Split, Croatia, has since gone viral.
Taking to X, the supporter uploaded the snap, along with the caption: "Met Loic Remy (right) cliff jumping in Split yesterday afternoon, lovely bloke, said Newcastle was the best club he played for in England and that he loved SJP and the fans!"
The post amassed over four million views within hours, with numerous fans chiming in to express their admiration for Remy, who retired in October 2023 following a stint at French club Brest. Another Magpies fan commented: "What a player, was devastated when we didn't sign him permanently."
A second laughed: "Ignoring the obvious silliness of putting (right), I think Loic Remy is the coolest man on earth". Meanwhile, a Queens Park Rangers fan reminisced: "Loved him at QPR. Shame we were largely a shambles".
Another added: "Haven't heard that name in a while man. Loic Remy a baller from when we were teenagers man".

Remy joined Chelsea in 2014 from west London neighbours QPR, following a loan spell at Newcastle. He had to settle for a bit-part role in Jose Mourinho's side, with the likes of Diego Costa and Didier Drogba ahead of him in the pecking order, but managed to end his first season with an impressive nine goals in 27 appearances, most of which were from the bench.
He also clinched both a Premier League title and the League Cup that season. Sadly, his second season wasn't nearly as fruitful, with Remy scoring just three times in 20 matches.
The forward, who previously played for Lyon, Lens, Nice and Marseille, then spent the 2016/17 season on loan at Crystal Palace, before joining Las Palmas on a permanent deal in the 2017. Later he played for Getafe, Lille, Caykur Rizespor and Adana Demirspor, before hanging his boots up in 2023.
While speaking on Prime Video, Remy opened up about his decision to retire, citing persistent injuries as the reason for his retirement from football: "After careful consideration, I made the decision to stop with all my injuries over the last six months.
"The body has its limits even if there will always be a lack. It's a wise decision. There is life after football, kids."
