Former Everton manager David Moyes lands new role just months after West Ham exit
Former Everton manager David Moyes has landed a first role since leaving West Ham United at the end of last season. The Scotsman re-joined the Hammers in 2019 and guided them to Europa Conference League glory in 2023.
But in May the London outfit announced that despite a successful return to the London Stadium, the 61-year-old's contract would not be renewed at the end of the season. He has since been replaced by former Spain, Real Madrid and Wolverhampton Wanderers' boss Julen Lopetegui.
However, less than three months after leaving the club, Moyes now has a new job for the 2024/25 season. The former Everton and Manchester United gaffer has been appointed as a technical observer for UEFA.

Moyes, who will be joined in his role by ex-England manager Gareth Southgate, will watch Champions League games across the continent before communicating his thoughts to UEFA's technical department.
For Moyes, it will be the first season in nearly 26 years that he has not taken charge of a club. The Scotsman joined Everton in 2002 after an impressive couple of years at Preston North End and spent 11 years at Goodison before succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.
But his time at Old Trafford was ill-fated and he lasted less than one season at the club. Since his sacking in 2014, he has had spells in Spain with Real Sociedad before returning to England with Sunderland and later enjoying two separate spells at West Ham.
Speaking in May after his upcoming exit from West Ham had been confirmed, Moyes insisted he wanted to remain in management: "I want to keep really involved in football, he said. "I really love football."
