Has the former Liverpool and Bolton striker David N’Gog gone missing?

During the summer, David N’Gog brought the curtain down on what had been a six-year spell in the UK. He became a free agent after his short-term contract with Swansea expired and so he returned to France and joined Stade de Reims.

But he’s only played once for the club so far this season and lasted just over an hour before being replaced.

Today, L’Equipe is reporting some very strange goings-on involving the former Liverpool striker.

The story says that N’Gog pulled out of a trip to Lorient shortly before having to meet up with the squad because of illness. The team doctor went to his hotel and confirmed he was under the weather. But he hasn’t been seen since last weekend.

When staff from the club arrived to check on him earlier this week, there was no-one in his room and his personal belongings were gone too.

The report goes on to mention that until yesterday, the club were satisfied N’Gog had a virus. Now, they’re not so sure.

The team’s manager Jean-Luc Vasseur said yesterday that the 25 year-old was bed-ridden though L’equipe, quite deliciously, says no one is quite sure what bed he’s in.

There are some rumours he could be with his family in the Parisian suburbs.
