Former Man United coach 'in talks' with West Brom after Ruben Amorim decision
West Brom are said to be in talks with former Manchester United assistant coach Rene Hake over the vacant head coach role at The Hawthorns.
Hake is a free agent after leaving Old Trafford in November when Ruben Amorim took charge of the Red Devils. The former Go Ahead Eagles boss had only joined United in July as assistant to Erik ten Hag, but departed after only four months shortly after Ten Hag was sacked and replaced by Amorim, who decided not to keep him as part of his backroom team.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says Hake is one of three main candidates to succeed Carlos Corberan in the Albion hotseat. He said on social media platform X: “WBA in talks with Rene Hake as candidate for head coach job.

“Discussions ongoing with former Man United assistant coach under Erik ten Hag, now available for new job. He’s one of the main 3 candidates on the list for West Bromwich.”
Albion have been looking for a new boss since Corberan departed The Hawthorns over Christmas.
It had emerged over the weekend that Raphael Wicky was the new favourite with the bookmakers to become the new boss. The Swiss was most recently in charge of Young Boys. Other names have also emerged in the betting markets, including Fabio Grosso and Urs Fischer.
