Former MLB OF Otis Nixon missing, Atlanta-area police say

Nixon, a base-stealing catalyst for the standout Braves teams of the early 1990s, has battled substance-abuse issues most of his adult life.

Former MLB outfielder Otis Nixon is missing and police in Woodstock, Ga., are seekingthe public's help in finding him.

Nixon, who was a base-stealing catalystfor the standout Braves teams of the early 1990s, hasn't been seen since leaving his home Saturday morning to play golf. Police in the Atlanta suburb said he did not arrive for his tee time.

Nixon, 58, has battled substance-abuse issues for much of his adult life. He missed the 1991 World Series because he was suspended after testing positive for cocaine, and he has been arrested multiple times since his 17-season MLB career ended in 1999.
