Former Plymouth Argyle striker Luke Jephcott joins Truro City on loan
Former Plymouth Argyle top scorer Luke Jephcott will spend the rest of this season on loan to Truro City from League Two side Newport County.
It is the second time the 25-year-old has been on loan to the Cornish club, who are currently in seventh position in National League South but within striking distance of all the teams above them in the table. Jephcott spent the first half of the 2019/20 campaign on loan to Truro from Argyle, and scored eight goals in 18 games, before being recalled by then Pilgrims' boss Ryan Lowe.
The Argyle academy product went on to be Argyle's 18-goal top scorer in the 2020/21 season, and netted another 12 times the following campaign.

Jephcott spent the 2022/23 season on loan to Swindon Town before he had a short spell at Scottish Premiership side St Johnstone and then joined Newport in January 2024, but he has not scored in 10 starts and 22 substitute appearances for them.
"I'm happy to be back and closer to home," Jephcott told trurocity.co.uk. "I know the club and quite a few of the lads here so I'm really excited and can't wait to get going.
"Last time I was here I did well and my career went on from there. Coming back, I will be looking to do similar and getting back out on the pitch, to show what I can do. I've come in to help the team push for promotion, play-offs and as many points as we can get between now and the end of the season.
"In the past, I've shown that when I am happy with my situation, I can provide and score goals. I want to express myself and enjoy football again, by giving everything, like the lads do already."
