Earl Thomas arrested at Texas bar
Orange County PD Officers responded to the call swiftly and Thomas was handcuffed at the bar and taken to the County Jail where he remains at this time. According to available online records, bond has yet to be set. Thomas is alleged have contacted the woman in question multiple times, and could be slapped with a third-degree felony charge that could carry a ten-year prison sentence. The arrest of Thomas comes a little under two weeks after a judge issued a warrant for the former Seahawks Safety. Thomas allegedly violated a protective order twice in the last 12 months by threatening the plaintiff and her children in text messages. An attorney appointed by Thomas had previously told local news reporters that his client was communicating with his estranged wife about their children. According to his legal counsel, this is something Thomas is permitted to do under the terms of the order. In 2021 the original protective order was put in place after Thomas was ordered to only contact his estranged wife using an approved co-parenting app. According to the allegations made by his ex-wife, Thomas refused to use the app, and he also allegedly sent several menacing messages, threatening violence against the woman and her family.
NFL comeback on the rocks
The arrest comes just as 33-year-old Thomas was set to make an attempt to return to the NFL. A five time All-Pro and Super Bowl champion, Thomas hasn't laced his cleats since the 2019 season when he started 15 NFL games for the Baltimore Ravens.
