Former Super League forward Lee Jewitt makes return to former club
Former Super League forward Lee Jewitt will return to the field after joining National Conference League side Waterhead Warriors for the 2023 season.
Jewitt, now 36, made more than 160 professional appearances in the sport, having made his debut with Wigan in 2005.
He returns to community club Waterhead Warriors, where he played during his amateur days before turning professional
The NCL side shared on social media: “We are delighted to announce former Wigan and Castleford forward Lee Jewitt has joined us for the forthcoming National Conference League season.
“It will be great to welcome Lee back to where it all began as he returns to his former community club.”

Jewitt was signed by Wigan as a youngster and progressed through their academy system, making his debut in 2005.
He later joined Salford, where he enjoyed his longest stint with a club. He made 105 appearances for the then-City Reds between 2007 and 2013.
Jewitt went on to enjoy two seasons with Limoux Grizzlies in France, before returning to England with Castleford in 2014. He made 40 appearances across three seasons with the Tigers.
The Oldham-born forward was a try-scorer during Castleford’s Challenge Cup quarter-final 16-4 victory over Wigan at the DW Stadium. He later featured from the bench in the final of the prestigious cup competition that season, falling to a 23-10 defeat to Leeds at Wembley.
Jewitt also appeared for Hull KR and Barrow and finished his professional career with Widnes in 2021.
His new club in Waterhead Warriors suffered a 30-12 defeat in the first round of the 2023 Challenge Cup competition to West Bowling.
They will feature in the National Conference League Division 2 competition in 2023.
