Four ponies have died following a collision with a Land Rover Discovery in the New Forest National Park.
The animals were killed on Roger Penny Way while licking salt just before 9pm on Thursday, police said.
Three ponies were confirmed dead at the scene which is north of Brook, with the fourth being found dead nearby.
Hampshire Constabulary is investigating the cause of the accident on the road which has a 40mph speed limit.
Hampshire police posted a picture of the damaged Land Rover on social media, adding in a statement: "Animals are on the Forest roads licking the salt that has been freshly laid.
“Please take extreme care to avoid any further incidents."
The male driver was not hurt, the BBC reported.
Three donkeys and two sheep were killed on the road in December, according to the Daily Echo.
In total 58 animals were killed in the New Forest in 2019, with 32 injured, according to park officials.
