Free agent DT Suh cancels visit to Oakland

Ndamukong Suh canceled a planned free agency visit with the Oakland Raiders and is returning to the Portland area.

NFL Network and ESPN reported Suh's travel itinerary change, which followed sitdowns with the New Orleans Saints, Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Rams.

NFL Network reported a great visit with the Rams was the reason Suh ran a reverse on the Raiders.

Suh was released by the Miami Dolphins on the first day of free agency in what was openly described as a "culture change," coupled with the departure last October of running back Jay Ajayi and a trade this month that sent wide receiver Jarvis Landry to the Cleveland Browns.

Suh is a dominant interior pass rusher and his precise fit with the Rams is uncertain but intriguing.

The Rams have arguably the top defensive tackle in football in Aaron Donald, who is entering the final year of his contract, along with former first-round pick Michael Brockers.

Brockers could be traded if Suh agrees to come on board, and there is no clear strategy for fitting Suh under a salary cap structure burdened by the acquisition of top cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters.
