Arsenal will arrive at Craven Cottage without Mohamed Elneny and Gabriel Jesus. There are also doubts over the fitness of Eddie Nketiah and Leandro Trossard, with both men nursing slight injuries. Fulham have injury worries of their own. Tom Cairney, Neeskens Kebano, Layvin Kurzawa will all miss Sunday's derby. Marco Silva's men will also miss Joao Palhinha through suspension and Cedric Soares due to his loan deal with the Gunners.
Fulham's impressive seven-match unbeaten run came to end following a 3-2 loss at Brentford on Monday. Marco Silva's men enjoyed wins over Leeds, Brighton and Nottingham Forest before being picked apart in the west London derby. Arsenal, on the other hand, recovered from February's 3-1 defeat to Manchester City by embarking on a five-match unbeaten run. The Gunners scored 14 goals across those games as they prevailed against Aston Villa, Leicester, Everton and Bournemouth. Mikel Arteta's men were eventually held to a 2-2 draw against Sporting Lisbon on Thursday, though the Spaniard did make a number of changes for the Europa League clash.
What has been said?
When questioned about balancing Europa League duties with the Premier League, Arteta said: "Our priority is the two competitions. Obviously we have to earn the right to continue in this competition to get as far as we want, and we're going to face a really difficult opponent. "The best way to prepare for any competition is to win the previous match and having the confidence and the proper emotion to approach the next game. If we play well and we are able to win the game, that will better prepare us for the next game." Fulham boss Marco Silva admitted he will need to find a solution after star man Joao Palhinha picked up an injury. He said: "Of course he will be a miss for us, he is an important player for us but another one will come in and another will do his job well for sure."
Arsenal will be looking to gain further ground in the Premier League title race when they travel to Fulham. Historically, Craven Cottage has been a happy hunting ground for the Gunners who have won on their last four visits. Arsenal have won 71% of their Premier League games against the Lilywhites and they will be desperate to keep that percentage up. Fulham, who are enjoying a solid season themselves and are eyeing a place in Europe, will certainly give Arsenal a run for their money. Silva's men have only lost three home games this season and boast a strong defensive record. Fulham have conceded fewer goals this season than the likes of Man United and Tottenham - two sides who start the weekend inside the top four. Despite this, Arsenal certainly have the tools to break their local rivals down. A close game is expected, though Arsenal to win and both teams to score is our tip for Sunday's derby in the capital.
