Furious Derek McInnes in Kilmarnock VAR blast as St Mirren star Shaun Rooney also gets it in neck
Derek McInnes has accused Shaun Rooney of a "full-blooded volley" on Kyle Vassell and has been left baffled as to why no action was taken.
The Kilmarnock boss was furious after his side's 2-2 draw with St Mirren and highlighted a flashpoint involving his captain opposing right-back Rooney. McInnes insists the former St Johnstone hero had no chance of playing the ball and went flying in to catch Vassell with a nasty one.
No action was taken by the referee and to make matters worse for he Killie manager, VAR didn't get involved either and that has left him scratching his head after a challenge he claims should not be allowed on a football pitch.

He said: "He volleys Kyle Vasell on the deck. If VAR isn't going to get involved in that, when are they going to get involved? Kyle is between the ball and Shaun Rooney. Now, if Rooney is going for the ball and showing a bit of restraint to try and get there..but he has want full-blooded into Kyle Vassell's hip.
"The referee doesn't even speak to him never mind deal with him. So, disappointed that has been allowed on a football pitch. It should be condemned, and I don't like talking about other teams' players, but that was an outrageous piece of refereeing."
