Arsenal have been given a boost with Gabriel Martinelli and Pablo Mari both back in training following the international break.

Martinelli has been out of action since July after undergoing knee surgery following an injury in training, while Mari has been injured since June after damaging ankle ligaments against Manchester City.

Mari was scheduled to integrate back into Arsenal training following the international break, and the summer signing is on schedule after being spotted in the Gunners’ latest training video on Twitter on Thursday night.

Martinelli has been back in training with Arsenal since late October, and his continued recovery is a further boost to Mikel Arteta given Arsenal’s lack of goals of late.

While it remains to be seen whether either player will be available for selection before December, the impending return of the duo will offer Arteta more options following a difficult start to the season.

Arsenal are showing signs of progress under Arteta in terms of style and tactics, though the Gunners have lost four of their opening eight Premier League games in an admittedly tough schedule so far.

Goals have been a concern, with Arsenal scoring just nine times in eight League outings to leave themselves 11th in the table.

Martinelli broke into the Arsenal first team last season, and his ability in front of goal could be exactly what Arteta needs to get his forward line firing again.
