Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane gave short shrift to a question about Gareth Bale's future ahead of Thursday's crucial LaLiga clash against Villarreal.

Bale has barely featured in recent weeks, playing just 100 minutes since the restart.

The Welsh winger is clearly not part of Zidane's plans ahead of a transfer window in which Madrid will hope to sell the former Tottenham attacker.

Asked in his press conference on Wednesday if Bale should leave, Zidane said: "What a question, eh.

"You try to put things between us, but you won't be able to. Every day you ask the same thing. You can do it, you have the right to ask what you want.

"But we're united. Gareth, James [Rodriguez], everyone."

Bale's only two goals in LaLiga this season came away Villarreal at El Madrigal on September 1 and Madrid can claim the title with victory over the same side at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano on Thursday night.
