Gareth Bale makes surprise Liverpool admission in Premier League title and Champions League verdict
Former Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale has tipped Liverpool to win the Premier League. However, the Welshman claimed that Carlo Ancelotti's side will reign victorious in the Champions League.
The Reds overcame their European rivals on Wednesday at Anfield as Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo were on target in a 2-0 win over the reigning champions. The triumph extended their winning start in the new-look competition, moving two points clear at the top of the standings.
Despite their impervious start, Bale has tipped the record holders to lift the trophy again at the Allianz Arena in May. However, the 35-year-old has claimed that Liverpool will be the team to end Manchester City's stranglehold in the English top-flight.

In a video posted to TNT Sport's social media, Bale was tasked with predicting the winner and top goalscorer in the Champions League, Premier League, La Liga as well as next year's Ballon d'Or winner. It appears that the video was taken prior to Liverpool's 2-0 win over Madrid, but he opted for his former club with Harry Kane picking up the golden boot.
He tipped Liverpool to gazump City to their second Premier League crown, with the Reds facing the prospect of moving 11 points clear at the top of the table on Sunday should they inflict further misery on Pep Guardiola's side.
Bale picked Erling Haaland to land another personal accolade in the top-flight with the golden boot. The Norwegian leads the way with 12 goals so far this term but Reds star Mohamed Salah will have eyes on taking his crown as he trails behind on 10 goals.
Real Madrid were tipped to win La Liga with Robert Lewandowski topping the goalscoring charts with Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe landing the Ballon d'Or.
