Gary Lineker Admits Doubt Over Arsene Wenger Announcing a New Contract Deal After Embarrassing Loss

​Gary Lineker is no stranger when it comes to the usage of Twitter, with the former Tottenham star also showing an opinion on hot topics of the week with his agenda sometimes away from football. 

However, the Match of the Day presenter was quick to sum up Arsenal's embarrassing 3-0 away defeat to London rivals Crystal Palace with the following tweet:

​​The loss on Monday night put Arsenal's top-four hopes in tatters where fans turned up expecting to win the game and still be involved with the battle for a Champions League spot next year.

The gunners are now seven points behind fourth-places Manchester City with seven games to go- although they have a game in hand.

The former England international striker looked to stir the pot with his tweet with many reacting angrily to his 'cheeky' post.

The Majority of fans have had enough of the consistent disappointment each season even though winning the FA Cup hasn't been enough.

Wenger's contract is up at the end of the season but he is expected to sing a new two-year deal, something that has caused serious concern among supporters with many rallying against the French manager.

Fans turned on players with jeers and boss at Selhurst Park and after the game Wenger refused to discuss his future with the press.

"I understand our fans are disappointed and we all are deeply disappointed," he said.

"It's very worrying and disappointing the way we lost the game. Palace were sharp, they beat Chelsea the other day, and that shows they have quality.

"We are in a difficult position. The game tonight doesn't help."
