George Lopez Schools Steve Harvey on Latino Culture During ‘Celebrity Family Feud’

George Lopez brought his Latino culture to Steve Harvey and Celebrity Family Feud. Lopez joked, “The Mexican family feuds carry on years and years. They would say, ‘I haven’t talked to my dad in 24 years.’ ‘Where is he?’ ‘In the living room.'”

The George Lopez team faced off against the Eva Longoria crew. Lopez brought his daughter, Mayan Lopez, his co-star Constance Marie, boxing legend Oscar de la Hoya, and actor Ray Diaz. The Eva Longoria crew was represented by actors Ana Ortiz, Justina Machado, Amaury Nolasco, and Wilmer Valderrama.

When Justina Machado answered “tortilla” to the question “Name something you roll,” the crowd couldn’t help but laugh. “These are Latinos up here!” she joked. And when Machado was given credit for the answer, even though the sign read “dough,” George Lopez was not having it. “It’s called masa!” he said.

It turned out “masa” was a new word to Steve Harvey, so Lopez explained “Masa is not where Mexican astronauts train. It is the cornmeal.”

Celebrity Family Feud airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
