The previous two winners of the World Cup face off on Friday night as Germany host Spain in Dusseldorf.

Joachim Low's Nationalmannschaft tasted glory in 2014 as they won the World Cup in Brazil, taking Spain's crown after La Roja had earned the ultimate honour in football back in 2010.

With both sides looking to make a statement of intent ahead of this summer's finals in Russia, Friday's match could prove to be more competitive than the usual international friendly fare.
