Giants' Odell Beckham Jr. reportedly late for kids event after missing flight from Coachella

Giants co-owner John Mara said Beckham would be handled internally for his crude touchdown celebration last week.

Odell Beckham Jr. has become one of the most maligned athletes in the world in recent seasons for his antics on and off the field.

His latest incident occurred Monday, when he showed up 90 minutes late to a community event for kids at MetLife Stadium. According to the New York Post, Beckham spent "minimal time" there after organizers had to keep a group of about 50 children occupied while awaiting his arrival — though he did pose for some pictures before leaving.

The report says Beckham was late because he was attending the Coachella Music Festival, and ultimately missed hisflight Sunday out of California. Dunkin’ Donuts, which was sponsoring the kids' event, then had to arrange another flight for him on Monday.

Beckham is no stranger to controversy. Giants general managerJerry Reese said it was time for Beckham to grow up after the receiver punched a hole in the wall at Lambeau Field following New York's playoff loss to the Packers last season.

Beckham, who reportedly did not offer an apology for arriving late Monday, has apparently not quite received Reese's message.
