Giants manager Bruce Bochy undergoes heart procedure

Bochy, who has a history of heart-related issues, will miss San Francisco's next two games.

Giantsmanager Bruce Bochy will not be with the team until Friday after undergoing a minor heart procedure Tuesday, the team announced.

Bochy, who turned 62 on Sunday, has a history of heart-related issues andunderwent the procedure Tuesday morning to alleviate discomfort related to an atrial flutter.

Bochy was taken to the hospital last August with an undisclosed illnessand remained there overnight. He later revealed that he's experienceda few episodes of irregular heartbeat and was kept under observation as a precaution after his medication was changed. Despite havingtwo stents placed in his heart in February 2015, Bochyclarified that specific hospitalization was notrelated to that.

Bench coach Ron Wotus will fill in andmanage the team against the Royals at Kauffman Stadium on Tuesday and Wednesday while Bochy rests at homein San Diego.
