This Morning star Gino D'Acampo has announced his decision to leave ITV show Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip.

Premiering in December 2017 with a Christmas special, three full series have aired since then, with the last drawing to a close in October 2021.

The show has seen Gino teaming up with Gordon Ramsay and First Dates' Fred Sirieix, journeying to France, Scotland, Mexico, America and Greece to soak up local culture and cuisines.

"So, I have a little bit of news for you, and the reason why I'm telling you right now is because I don't want you to read any crap or any wrong information... so I'd rather you get it from me, straight," D'Acampo revealed to his TikTok followers yesterday (March 19).

"So, what's happened? Last week, I have decided not to film any more Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip. The reason is simple, I mean, nothing to do with Gordon and Fred – the friendship is very strong, we've known each other for many, many years.

"It's just because we can't get the dates together and when we do get the dates together, sometimes they get changed and it causes a lot of problems for me, because then I've got other stuff that I have to do.

"Personal problems as well because, you know, when I have to change things with my family, it's always very complicated."

According to Gino, maintaining his friendships with both Gordon and Fred beyond their working relationship was an important part of his decision.

"When contracts start to get very complicated, then it becomes very stressful, and I personally value the friendship with Gordon and Fred so much, that I'd rather [have] the friendship than getting [into] arguments with the contracts," D'Acampo further explained.

"I want to be friends with the boys for many, many years ahead... Thank you for watching the show, I know that you like the show. I know that ITV like the show and everybody likes it.

"But unfortunately, sometimes like all good things in life, at some point they have to come to an end. So, thank you again for watching the show, and I'm sure you will understand."

Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip is available to watch on ITVX.
