Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed the signing of former Liverpool midfielder Giorginio Wijnaldum.

The Dutch midfielder, who left Anfield on a free transfer at the end of the season, was set to join Spanish side Barcelona.

However, PSG reportedly blew their contract offer out of the water and Wijnaldum - who is currently preparing for Euro 2020 with the Netherlands - has signed a deal until June 2024.

"Signing for PSG is a new challenge for me," Wijnaldum told the club's website. "I'm joining one of the best squads in Europe and I want to bring all my desire and commitment to this ambitious project.

"PSG have proved how good they are in recent years and I'm convinced that together, with our supporters, we can go even further and higher."

PSG head coach Mauricio Pochettino tried to sign Wijnaldum for Tottenham in 2016. Five years later, he finally has his man.
