Gor Mahia 0-0 Tusker: Brewers stop K’Ogalo

K’Ogalo drop to position two on the 2017 Kenyan Premier League table from six matches after a goalless draw against Tusker

Gor Mahia failed to maintain the Kenyan Premier League lead following their 0-0 draw against Tusker FC on Saturday at Afraha Stadium.

Gor Mahia went to the match at the top of the table with hopes of remaining at the summit while Tusker were simply hopeful of a good result.

Pressure mounted on K’Ogalo after Posta Rangers beat Kariobangi Sharks at the same venue to take their tally to 14 points, two above the Green Army before the latter set foot to the pitch.

However, the George Nsimbe coached outfit stayed brave, putting their KPL Super Cup defeat away and simply focusing on the league match.

The likes of Collins Shivachi, Shafik Batambuze and Captain James Situma successfully cleared off all dangers posed by Gor Mahia’s Meddie Kagere and Jacques Tuysenge in a number of occasions.

On the other side, Humphrey Mieno and Mike Khamati also troubled Gor Mahia defense in search of goals to no avail. At some point, the match looked a bit physical from either side; a thing which saw Haron Shakava and Hashim Sempala get to the referee’s book.

The result now sees the Ze Maria coached side drop to the second position of the league as Posta Rangers take lead. Tusker are at position 15 with six points.
