Straight in at the deep end. Everton are being linked with a move for a former Arsenal and Manchester City player and it’s all a bit peculiar.

No, it is not Emmanuel Adebayor. Nor is it Gael Clichy.

Indeed Samir Nasri is the man at the centre of reports, according to Mail Online.

Marco Silva is supposedly keen to bring the 31-year-old Premier League winner back to England after his time at Antalyaspor was cut short by a ban following intravenous treatment at a Los Angeles clinic.

Presumably the fact he hasn’t played in the best part of a year is not enough of a deterrent for the former Watford manager.

He is free though, so that must help.

Arsene Wenger to join Paris Saint-Germain?

And speaking of Arsenal and Nasri, the man who links them both is reportedly set to move to Paris Saint-Germain as director of football.

Arsene Wenger is supposedly being lined up to work alongside Thomas Tuchel in the French capital despite their strong start to the domestic season.

RMC report this is due to Tuchel and current sporting director Antero Henrique not seeing eye-to-eye behind the scenes.

Just how the technicalities would work (Does Arsene change his name? Do PSG change theirs?) is yet to be decided.

Manchester United mayhem

Meanwhile, Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is being linked with a move away from the club.

The rumour unsurprisingly followed the Ivorian not getting much love from Jose Mourinho – aside from a huge hug as he was hauled off within 20 minutes at home to Newcastle.

“I don’t see a way back for Eric Bailly at Manchester United and he has been made the fall guy this evening,” United legend Rio Ferdinand said following the 3-2 win.

As a result, The Express report that Tottenham are set to overcompensate after their summer of no signings by splashing almost £100million in January.

Bailly, who signed for United for £30m in 2016, is said to be a target and will cost at least that amount to take him to north London.

The Red Devils have also supposedly made a ‘dizzying’ offer for World Cup winner Lucas Hernandez.

Mourinho is determined to build on his defence after failing to land Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld in the summer and Marca believe they have turned their eye to the 22-year-old Atletico Madrid man.

His buyout clause, however, is €80m. Ouch.
