‘Gossip Girl’ Alum Jessica Szohr Revealed She’s Pregnant

Her Gossip Girl co-star Leighton Meester just welcomed a new baby, and now Jessica Szohr is pregnant with her first child with her professional hockey player boyfriend Brad Richardson. Szohr played Dan's BFF from childhood (and, at one point, his romantic interest), Vanessa Abrams, on the show.

The Gossip Girl alum revealed that she's expecting in a black-and-white photo that she posted to Instagram on September 23rd.

"Full of joy!" Szohr captioned her announcement.

It didn't take much time for her famous friends to start commenting.

"The bun is out of the oven!" The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev wrote. "Finally! (Well...figuratively, not literally. It's still cookin')," she joked. Dobrev's co-star Claire Holt, who just welcomed her own baby into the world on September 13th, commented, "Yayayayayayyyyy!"

Candice King, who is also expecting (and in the final weeks of her pregnancy), added, "Yay!!!! Congratulations momma!!! Xoxo." Ashley Greene wrote, "Holy congrats!! I'm so so happy for you," and The Office's Brian Baumgartner commented, "Perfect! So happy for you."

Szohr and Richardson, who plays for the Arizona Coyotes, have been linked since April 2019. Then, Richardson made his first debut on Szohr's Instagram account when the pair attended the Stagecoach Music Festival. Since then, Richardson, who has a private Instagram account, has become a regular on Szohr's feed.

Szohr wrapped up her time on Gossip Girl in 2012 and moved onto other projects, including 2015's Complications, 2017's Twin Peaks, and Shameless. She also has a starring role on Fox's The Orville, a comedy-drama created and starring Seth MacFarlane.

But now while continuing life in quarantine, like the rest of us, Szohr can focus on her upcoming role as mom. And judging by the response from her friends, peers, and former TV families, this baby is going to be surrounded by so much love.
