Harry Kane, Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose, Dimitar Berbatov, Teddy Sheringham. It’s about time Tottenham were linked with buying a player from Manchester United, rather than the other way around.

And today, they are.

According to the lads at French media outlet RMC Sport, the next player to follow in the hallowed footsteps of Frazier Campbell and Zeki Fryers is the Red Devils’ forward Anthony Martial.

The Frenchman has been patiently waiting for a new contract at Old Trafford, but talks have reportedly stalled since Jose Mourinho signed Alexis Sanchez.

Martial is apparently “surprised” about this given his good form this season and is starting to feel rather unappreciated by the United boss.

The 22-year-old has even allegedly pulled out of a deal to buy a new house in Manchester, which was particularly upsetting for him because it had a south-facing lounge, a swimming pool and a Buck Rogers toilet.

This has all alerted Spurs to the former Monaco starlet’s potential availability, although Real Madrid might also be interested in Martial, providing they can offload Gareth Bale.

Sounds like a Bale-Martial swap deal could suit everyone. Well, everyone except Spurs.

Pogba replacement

Man Utd are also said to be stepping up their interest in the Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri as a potential replacement for the increasingly unsettled Paul Pogba.

The Mirror says the Red Devils have make “fresh contract” with the £35m-rated Ivorian amid suggestions that Pogba could be “ready to end” his second spell at Old Trafford if he and Mourinho “are unable to resolve their differences”. Maybe Pogs should ask Luke Shaw how he did it.

Or maybe the Special One should take a leaf out of Pep Guardiola’s book and just chill out a bit. The Manchester City manager is set to be rewarded for his cruise to the Premier League title with a new contract worth £20m a year, reports the Mail.

The Spaniard is currently on just under £17m a year but that isn’t quite enough, so City are ready to give him a little top-up to get him through the winter.

Guardiola, however, apparently does not want his new deal to be announced “until he has won a trophy”. Luckily for him, he can do that tomorrow by beating Arsenal in the EFL Cup final. Shouldn’t be too difficult.

Elsewhere, Paris Saint-Germain are plotting a summer move for AC Milan’s teenage goalkeeping sensation Gianluigi Donnarumma (AS), Newcastle have sent scouts to watch Galatasaray’s £10m-rated Cape Verde international midfielder Garry Rodrigues, which is an excellent name (Birmingham Mail) and the Magpies will also complete with West Ham, West Brom and Watford to sign Marseille’s 22-year-old midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, which is an even better name (Sun).
