GP2 - Canamasas punished for Sakhir move

Caterham's GP2 driver Sergio Canamasas has been slung to the back of the Bahrain feature race grid after deliberately weaving at a rival driver, attempting to drive him off the track after the chequered flag in qualifying.

Canamasas was deemed to have made "a deliberate change of direction, adversely affecting another driver" after attempting to pass Trident Racing's Kevin Ceccon during the session.

Then, after the chequered flag, the Spaniard waited for Ceccon at the same turn and made another deliberate change of direction to try to force Ceccon off the track.

Kevin Giovesi has also been penalised after he was judged to have impeded Johnny Cecotto between Turns 9 and 10, resulting in a three-place grid drop so he starts 18th.

Cecotto himself was thrown to the back of the grid in the previous round in Malaysia for driving Sam Bird off the track in qualifying.
