Cheltenham manager Mark Yates hailed debutant winger Bagasan Graham after the youngster helped steer the Robins to a 1-0 victory over Rotherham.

The youngster was handed his first league start and rewarded his boss with an excellent display.

"There was an opportunity for Bags," Yates explained. "He set up the goal and he was a big outlet for us for the first hour. He can be pleased with his league debut as he was a threat all night."

A Marlon Pack strike on 11 minutes, following good work by Graham, won the game for Cheltenham and lifted them to second in the npower League Two table.

Yates added: "It was a great goal, a great strike from Marlon [Pack]. The game wasn't pretty and we had to dig in. We weren't at our best but we dealt with a lot of long balls to their two strikers who were excellent.

"We defended a lot better in the second half but you are not going to win games playing flowing football all the time.

"We could have got the second but that's a great win on a Friday night and it will be a little bit sweeter watching what the others can do.

"I just said to the boys that Scott Brown has only had the one save to make. We have put our bodies on the line. They are a really good side but so are we. We don't fear anybody.

"It was a good performance. We can play a lot better than that but there are times when you aren't allowed to play flowing football.

"We are averaging two points a game and that's a great end to the year. We had a chance to go top of the league and who would have thought that when we reported back on July 1."
