'Great British Bake Off' star Manon Lagreve announces pregnancy

Great British Bake Off star Manon Lagreve has announced she is pregnant. 

It the first child for Lagreve, who has shared that she is also planning to wed her partner Luke Bennett next year in her home country of France. 

She revealed her happy news in an interview with Hello! magazine released on Mother's Day. She said of her pregnancy: "I grew up knowing I wanted to be a mum so I’m very happy and relaxed with being pregnant.

“The baby will be with me in the kitchen from the day it’s born. We are so happy to be having a summer baby and the due date is on Luke’s birthday – it feels like it’s meant to be.”

Lagreve added that she wanted to raise her child to be bilingual. 

“That is one of the best gifts we can give them, so we’re going to work hard at it,” she remarked. “I’d like the baby to be French speaking at home and then use English outside the home."

Sharing the interview to her Instagram page, Lagreve stated that the baby was due in June.

The couple announced their engagement last November after Bennett proposed during a holiday to Barbados. 

Lagreve competed on the 2018 series of GBBO where she was eliminated in the eighth week of the competition. 

The ninth series was eventually won by Rahul Mandal, with Kim-Joy and Ruby Bhogal as the runners-up.
