Greggs reveals Festive Bake launch date as Christmas menu hype begins

Greggs has revealed exactly when customers can get their hands on a Festive Bake this year.

Christmas may be a few months away, but with this year pretty much being a write off, many are already looking ahead to the festive period (2020 can't cancel Christmas, too, can it?).

And what better encapsulates those magical months than special-themed menus, filled with warming spiced treats and various twists on a traditional turkey dinner? Nothing, that's what.

Taking to Twitter this week, Greggs confirmed this year's launch date, writing: "If anything can save 2020, it's the Festive Bake", with an accompanying hashtag of #79Days.

A quick bit of maths, and it seems the meat-filled pastry treats will be coming to UK stores on Thursday, November 5.

Fans have already shared their delight online, with one writing: "Gerrit in the bloody calendar!"

Another politely requested Greggs bring the launch date forward:

Others, however, have asked the confectionery giant to make a vegan version of the sell-out pie, much like it has introduced meat-free sausage rolls.

While this year's price has yet to be confirmed, the puff-pastry-wrapped bundle of joy cost £1.50 in 2019.

The filling includes chicken breast, sweetcure bacon and sage stuffing, and a deliciously creamy sage and cranberry sauce.

It is also expected that Greggs will roll out a full festive menu closer to the time - including the much-loved sweet mince pies.
