Having won a sprint on the first day, Greipel repeated the trick to hold off Michael Van Staeyen of Belgium and Garmin rider Steele Von Hoff in the race for the line.

Greipel now holds a 14-second advantage in the overall standings from Alexander Kristoff and Van Staeyen on account of the various time bonus advantages he has picked up over his rivals.

The six-stage race continues on Friday with a stage from Silkeborg to Vejle.
