Group set off on bike ride fundraiser in memory of friend who battled brain tumour

FIVE men have set off on a cycling challenge in memory of their friend who passed away from a brain tumour after a brave two-year fight.

Bournemouth residents Alan Marsh, Aaron Drayton, Lewis Mills, Scott Nicholson and Joe Elliott started their ride from John O’Groats on Saturday morning.

They are pedalling all the way to Land’s End, raising money for the Brain Tumour Charity in memory of Steve Burke.

The team’s fundraising page says: “Steve sadly passed away from a grade 4 brain tumour after a very brave two-year fight.

“We wanted to do something in his name to show how much he impacted everyone he met.”

The group have already raised more than £8,800 on their JustGiving page, with a target of £10,000 in their sights.
