Gustav Isaksen Lazio stance revealed as Celtic transfer interest hits rocks
Lazio have told Gustav Isaksen they wish to keep him for another year - but could be persuaded to sell if a permanent offer presents itself.
Football Scotland understands the Serie A giants are hopeful of keeping hold of the winger who has emerged as a Celtic transfer target this summer with Brendan Rodgers still on the lookout for new bodies. The window closes this week and any deal would have to accelerate quickly, but the Hoops have not yet lodged any official bid.
Sources in Italy have confirmed that a permanent transfer would be the only way they'd consider sanctioning an exit with a loan with obligation also possible. They would NOT agree to a straight loan.
Celts are also closing in on the signing of Alex Valle this week while Arne Engels, as we told you, is one on their shortlist. The Scottish champions opened discussions about the Augsburg playmaker but reports told this morning how the German outfit had knocked back their initial offer.
It's expected that Celts - who also want LAFC's Mateusz Bogusz - will go back in for Engels as they also weigh up another centre-half with Gustaf Lagerbielke on the way out.
