Gwendoline Christie Looks Unrecognizable as She Transforms into Porcelain Doll on Margiela Runway: See the Pics!

The actress had an epic catwalk transformation as she closed the Maison Margiela show on Thursday

Gwendoline Christie closed out Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week with a bang.

The Game of Thrones actress, 45, made a theatrical catwalk cameo during Maison Margiela’s spring/summer 2024 presentation on Thursday when she closed the show and put on a full performance for the star-studded audience, including Kim Kardashian, Kris and Kylie Jenner.

Christie sauntered down the runway in an avant-garde ensemble — a rubber dress worn over a blue striped corset! The look was teamed with sheer opera gloves, white tights and matching heels. But it was the British actress' beauty moment that really stole the show.

The Wednesday actress wore a blonde wig with Victorian curls and doll-like makeup courtesy of legendary makeup artist, Pat McGrath, to further get into character.

“Porcelain glass skin” coated with hyper-shiny glaze, bleached brows drawn over with “pencil-thin arches”, jewel-tone and pastel eyeshadow, flushed cheeks and pouty lips all made up MacGrath’s creations for the show, according to a press release from the brand.

Over on Instagram, McGrath shared a backstage look at Christie's transformation, captioning it, "surreal skin meets moonlight."

“MOTHER THANK YOU FOR BEING INCREDIBLE!” Christie gushed in the comment section.

Although this isn't the star's first time on the runway, she revealed to System magazine that she's never participated in a show quite like this one.

"I can't tell you how meaningful this is for me, because I've loved fashion for such a long time and for over 30 years I've wanted to be in a show like this," she told the outlet.

The Emmy nominee previously opened about her past modeling experiences since making her runway debut in 2015 for Vivienne Westwood, and also got real about the insecurities she used to have about her height.

In conversation with Vogue last January Christie, who stands over six feet tall, said she was “very concerned” about her castability in Hollywood. And although she believed if she molded herself to societal standards that things might work out, she realized, "No, I'm not going to make any effort to fit in."

When she was asked to walk the Tomo Koizumi fashion show in 2019, which required her to wear a fully ruffled gown, she had reservations. But then, she released any doubt she had with an empowering mindset: "I'm gonna honor who I am and every single freakish thing about me," she remembered telling herself.
