Hamilton Accies boss hopes for 'Ahkeem Rose-type' signing
Hamilton Accies boss John Rankin hopes to bring in at least one new player before heading to Livingston on Saturday.
Rankin’s side head to West Lothian looking for a first win over the Lions this season, and the gaffer hopes for more help with that.
Accies brought in striker Ahkeem Rose at this point last season, and he weighed in with eight goals, with Rankin looking for somebody similar,
He said: “We’re working really hard, and hopefully we can get something over the line in the next couple of days, but right now it’s pretty much where we were.
“We have identified targets, we’ve spoken to them, and if we can, I’d be delighted to get one in before the weekend.

“Last season at this stage we brought Ahkeem Rose in, and he was one that kicked us on.
“You look at his influence in the team, and it’s important we do something similar.
“I’m not necessarily talking about someone that’s going to come in and score goals, but somebody that can make an impact on the pitch and off it.
“It can add a bit of freshness and excitement to the players, because they’re desperate to show how good they are, who’s the main man, who’s the best player, and also add that bit of a different dynamic to the dressing room
“That’s the important part, we’ve got a lot of players here between the ages of 21 and 25, and if we can bring the right pros in to help them develop on their pathway and progress, then we’ll do a good job.”
