What happened next to Hull FC's 23-man release list as new clubs for 2025 sought

Hull FC saw 23 first-team players leave the club during or after the 2024 Super League season. Just six of those players are now at Super League clubs, with five in the Championship, four at League 1, seven unattached, and one retired. Here, Hull Live looks at where they are all at now.

Super League

1. Jack Brown - Hull KR
The prop forward was part of a swap deal with Yusuf Aydin, with Brown going east and the latter west. Brown played nine times for Hull KR, with Aydin lining up 19 times for Hull FC last season.

2. Tex Hoy - Castleford Tigers
The Australian full-back has one year remaining on his Castleford Tigers deal, having swapped Hull for the West Yorkshire outfit back in April. He scored seven tries in 17 games for the club.

3. Darnell McIntosh - Leigh Leopards
The winger was part of the move that saw Tom Briscoe re-join Hull FC in April, signing for the Leythers on a two and a half-year deal. He played nine times for Adrian Lam's side in 2024.

4. Cam Scott - Wakefield Trinity
The centre was released by Hull back in July and has since joined Wakefield on a two-year deal from 2025, with the club option of a third.

5. Liam Sutcliffe - Huddersfield Giants
Hull granted the centre a release from the final season of his three-year deal to sign for Huddersfield. The 30-year-old has put pen to paper on a three-year contract.

6. Jake Trueman - Wakefield Trinity
The half-back was granted a release from the third year of his Hull FC deal to join Wakefield. He has signed a three-year contract.

Championship

7. Joe Cator - Toulouse Olympique
The Hull-born forward left Hull FC in July and moved to Toulouse on loan, playing two games for the French side. He has now signed a one-year deal for 2025.

8. Jayden Okunbor - Bradford Bulls
The Australian moved on loan to Bradford before signing a permanent deal until the end of the 2025 season. He has been playing on the wing or at centre for the Championship outfit, making 17 appearances and scoring nine tries.

9. Franklin Pele - Bradford Bulls
The prop moved on loan to Bradford earlier this year and has now made that move permanent, signing a one-year contract for the 2025 season. He scored nine tries in 15 games for the club in 2024.

10. Morgan Smith - Sheffield Eagles
The half-back come hooker gave everything in his one year at Hull FC, but the two parties agreed on a release last month. He has now joined the Eagles on a two-year deal.

11. Carlos Tuimavave - Featherstone Rovers
The double Challenge Cup winner has signed a two-year deal with Featherstone Rovers, having spent the last nine seasons at Hull FC.

League 1

12. Lennon Bursell - Goole Vikings
The former Hull FC academy captain has signed for new League 1 club Goole Vikings.

13. Mackenize Harman - Goole Vikings
A former Hull FC academy and reserves half-back, Harman will try his luck at the new East Yorkshire outfit next season.

14. Jeylan Hodgson - Goole Vikings
The hooker is the nephew of former Hull FC and Hull KR hooker Josh Hodgson. He is the third released Hull player to join Goole for the 2025 season.

15. Sully Medforth - Midlands Hurricanes
The half-back played on loan at the Birmingham-based club in 2024 and has now made the move permanent for 2025.

Unattached

16. Kye Armstrong
The young middle parted ways with the club last month.

17. Fa'amanu Brown
The hooker signed for St George Illawarra Dragons after leaving Hull FC in April. However, he was released by the Sydney club at the end of the NRL season.

18. Damel Diakhate
The French forward left the club in March and signed for Catalans Dragons. However, he was released after an off-field incident. He last played for Carcassonne in the French Elite Championship.

19. Charlie Severs
The young edge forward is set to take some time out of the game after back-to-back serious shoulder injuries.

20. Liam Tindall
The winger was one of three first-team players released by Hull FC last month.

21. Mitieli Vulikijapani
The outside back played as a guest for rugby union outfit Northampton Saints last month. He is still to find a permanent club but is a serving soldier with the British Army.

22. Jack Walker
The full-back was released by Hull FC last month.

Retired

23. Danny Houghton
The club legend retired at the end of the 2024 season, finishing on an incredible 451 games for the Black and Whites.
