West Brom Fan View: Why hasn't Pardew been replaced?

Things go from bad to worse for Alan Pardew

They say that it’s the hope that kills you. West Brom have certainly made a habit of giving their supporters hope initially, only for it to be snatched away in the dying minutes, leaving you questioning why you ever had hope in the first place. Going 1-0 up against Bournemouth, only to lose 2-1 late on, it’s an all-too-familiar story.

The Baggies have lost an astonishing 24 points from winning positions in the Premier League this season, more than any other team. Whether it’s a lack of concentration, loss of discipline or the squad just simply lacking quality, losing that many points late on is unacceptable. I’d say it’s more a lack of discipline because, let’s be honest, a couple of the players have got form.

It’s been clear for a while that West Brom were doomed for relegation, but the very least that the fans deserve is a bit of fight, going down with a whimper is unforgivable. But that is exactly what is happening at West Brom. The reign of Alan Pardew has been an absolute disaster, why not give someone else a go before the end of the season? Things could not possibly get any worse.

It’s a matter of principle, yes it might cost the club a couple of million quid to get rid of Pardew, but if a new manager comes in and gives the fans a bit of hope, surely that’s money well spent? We’re a country mile from safety at the moment, nine points in fact. But instead of just giving up and accepting our fate, why not try something, anything, to get us out of this mess?

Absolutely anything can happen in football, but it looks as though the club has already lost all hope of survival, if they still had hope, they would have sacked Pardew a few weeks ago. That hurts more than any defeat ever could.
