Centre-back Joe Rodon said sorry to Leeds United's travelling fans after their below-par performance against Blackburn Rovers. Daniel Farke's side struggled to get going in Lancashire in front of 7,000 plus supporters and suffered a third league defeat of the season.

Todd Cantwell’s 22nd-minute penalty proved decisive as the Whites dropped out of the automatic promotion places. Speaking to LUTV post match, Rodon said: "The performance in the first half was nowhere near the standards. It should have been like a home game for us today. We had 7,000 travelling fans and we have let them down. It's not good enough."

United poured forward in search of an equaliser after the restart but were wasteful in front of goal. "We had clear chances in the first half to score a goal," stated Wales international Rodon. "But when you don't score goals against these teams, you know what they are doing to do. They change system and park the bus. It is what they always do. We know everything about these teams. We come prepared and we know everybody changes their system against us.

"We didn't punish them and we weren't ruthless enough and we lost the game. We were a bit naive (in the second half) and we lacked a cutting edge. We can all say that it's difficult to break down a team when they have got everybody behind the ball but it wasn't our day. When those chances come, you have to take them but, unfortunately, we didn't and we were punished."

Next up for Farke's men is a home clash with Derby County on Saturday, December 7. Rodon said: "We have fallen short again but, for me personally, I can't wait to go again, and I'm sure the team is raring to go and are very angry in there (the dressing room). We have to dust ourselves off and get ready to go again at home next week."
