Nottingham Forest have completed their 18th summer signing, as Renan Lodi has joined the Reds on loan from Atletico Madrid.

Forest have been one of the busiest sides in world football during the summer transfer window. Clearly, they are keen on maintaining their Premier League status beyond this season.

Recruiting new talent seems to be the most likely way they see that happening.

As such, they have already brought a host of new players onboard. The likes of Jesse Lingard, Emmanuel Dennis and Dean Henderson seem good additions to the squad.

Those players will all bring top-flight experience, which should benefit Forest this season.

The City Ground outfit have now landed their 18th signing of the season, too. Forest have confirmed on their official website that Lodi has joined on loan from Atletico for the season.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports that Forest will pay a €5million (£4.2million) loan fee, and have the option to sign the left-back permanently for €30million (£25.6million).

Lodi is yet another player whose experience will serve Forest well. The Brazilian has played three seasons on Champions League football, twice making it to the competition’s quarter-finals.

Furthermore, he won the La Liga title with Atletico in 2020/21, making 23 appearances.

As such, it seems Forest have landed themselves a very competent player, and one who should improve their side.

Another signing could soon follow Lodi to Forest

Forest are still looking to make more additions to their squad, following the signing of Lodi. Indeed, Romano reports that they are closing in on the snare of Wolves centre-back Willy Boly.

It was previously reported by The Telegraph and The Athletic that Wolves had rejected a £1million bid for the defender from the Reds.

However, Forest are reportedly still keen, and talks are progressing into the ‘final stages’. There is no mention of the fee Forest will be paying for the Wolves man as yet.

However, Romano reports that Steve Cooper’s side are hoping to get the deal done in the next 24 hours. Boly would become the second centre-back signing at Forest this summer, following the snare of Moussa Niakhate, from Mainz.
