Help fund teenage scooterist Joe to compete in World Skate Games in Argentina
WEST Wight teenager Joe Crockett will be aiming to put his unique talents with a scooter to the best possible use when he takes part in the World Skate Games in Argentina — but he can only compete if he can raise the funds needed to travel there.
Joe, 14, from Freshwater — one of the country’s top scooterists — came fourth in a recent national event, holding his own against top scooterists in the UK.
He was recently selected for the World Skate Games, hosted in Buenos Aires and San Juan next month, which was postponed from 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Joe, who has been helping Freshwater Parish Council promote a project to build a new state-of-the-art skatepark in Freshwater, needs to raise at least £3,000 to compete in the South American country.
He currently has no sponsor and needs to raise £3,000.
Joe has set up a GoFundMe page to try to raise the money he needs to get to South America to compete, but is more than £1,800 short of his urgent target.
To support Joe's urgent funding mission, donations can be made on his GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme. com/f/help-joe-get-to-argentina
